Cast<\/strong> For the Peter Pan Company<\/strong> Peter Pan Musicians<\/strong> Production Acknowledgements<\/strong> Act 1<\/strong> Act 2<\/strong> Tommy Cannon and Bobby Ball are one of Britain’s funniest and most successful double acts. In a career spanning over 30 years they have achieved a string of honours that includes them among the all-time greats of showbusiness.<\/p>\n On television they have starred in their own series practically every year since 1979. They have ‘guested’ on all the major shows including Wogan<\/em>, Parkinson<\/em>, The Des O’Connor Show<\/em>, Sunday Night at the Palladium<\/em> and several Royal Variety Shows<\/em>. They featured in a BBC documentary Funny Business<\/em> based on double acts, which also included footage of comedy legends Martin and Lewis, Laurel and Hardy, and Morecambe and Wise.<\/p>\n To add to their pedigree, they remain the only act to have won three separate National Club Awards and be names as the Variety Club ‘Personalities of the Year’. Their feature film The Boys in Blue<\/em> in addition to its cinema success, has gone on to become a video best seller. The boys have also been the subject of This is Your Life!<\/em><\/p>\n During the 1970s they built a strong reputation around the UK cabaret club circuit for being a great live act. They also toured extensively in the hotel circuits of Australia and South Africa.<\/p>\n Tom and Bob have broken records in theatres all over the UK, including London. In 1981 they played a six-week season at the Dominion Theatre. Every seat was sold before the show opened, and in 1988 their pantomime Babes in the Wood<\/em> broke all previous pantomime records at the world famous London Palladium, where Cannon and Ball created the record for the largest box office amount taken in one week in British theatre history.<\/p>\n Rock with Laughter 96<\/em> fulfilled Tommy and Bobby’s ambition to star in their own Rock ‘n’ Roll spectacular, their first summer season for producers QDOS.<\/p>\n After an extensive Autumn tour and a trip to Israel, the boys played the Chinese Policemen in Aladdin<\/em> in the Theatre Royal, Newcastle, and again at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n They have appeared on many major TV shows including The Des O’Connor Show<\/em>, Noel Edmond’s House Party<\/em>, Talking Telephone Numbers<\/em> and The Generation Game<\/em>.<\/p>\n In the spring of 1999 the boys appeared at various theatres across the country starring in A Night at the Music Hall<\/em> whilst continuing their tour of An Audience With…<\/em><\/p>\n The boys played full houses at their Summer Season in 1999 at the Blackpool Grand Theatre, the season was one of the most successful summers Blackpool has ever had!<\/p>\n The 1999\/2000 pantomime season saw the boys play the Regent Theatre, Stoke on Trent, for the production Cinderella<\/em>, co-starring Melinda Messenger and Britt Ekland.<\/p>\n The early part of 2000 saw the boys starring and touring in various shows throughout the UK’s theatres. Summer Season 2000 featured the successful Comedy Bonanza Show<\/em> (which broke box office records) at the Blackpool Grand Theatre and the Princess Theatre, Torquay, for 10 weeks and later included Sundays at the Pavilion Theatre, Bournemouth. Pantomime 2000\/2001 saw the boys star at the Alhambra Theatre, Bradford.<\/p>\n 2001\/2002 pantomime saw them starring in Aladdin with Tricia Penrose at the Theatre Royal, Nottingham.<\/p>\n Tommy and Bobby appeared at the Comedy Bonanza, Blackpool Grand Theatre throughout the summer of 2002 and went on to star in Dick Whittington<\/em> as Captain and Captain’s Mate at the New Theatre, Cardiff. The following year they starred in Summer Season at the Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth, and Weymouth Pavilion Theatre.<\/p>\n They hit a new record-breaking high in 2003\/2004 at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton, with Peter Pan<\/em> for one of the longest running seasons in the UK. The boys played Yoo and Smee, two bumbling pirates, much to the annoyance of the evil Captain Hook.<\/p>\n Tommy and Bobby returned to our television screens early in 2004 with the BBC1 series Revolver<\/em>, a comedy sketch show that brought together a whole host of talent that we all know and love, such as John Inman, Leslie Phillips and Honor Blackman.<\/p>\n This summer the boys teamed up with The Grumbleweeds as they performed at the Blackpool Grand Theatre with the hugely popular Comedy Bonanza<\/em>, they also appeared at the Britannia Pier, Great Yarmouth, the Futurist Theatre, Scarborough, and the Embassy Theatre, Skegness.<\/p>\n Even after 40 years of making people laugh, Tommy and Bobby are still enjoying every minute and are looking forward to entertaining for many years to come.<\/p>\n Lee was born in Carlisle and is most famous for being the lead singer of the boyband 911.<\/p>\n Lee joined up with Spike and Jimmy in 1995, forming the hugely successful pop band. 911 were one of the biggest pop bands of the nineties releasing 13 singles and four albums, including a Greatest Hits<\/em>, during their five years together. 911 had ten top ten singles, eight top fives, and one number one, selling seven million records.<\/p>\n The band toured the UK four times and also toured Europe and the Far East. 911 recently reformed and are working towards future gigs. Lee is now concentrating on songwriting, having written four hits for 911.<\/p>\n He is signed to music publishers Windswept. He co-wrote the single If You Come Back<\/em> for the boyband Blue, which shot to number one in December 2001.<\/p>\n Last year saw Lee try his hand at acting for the first time as he appeared in his first panto. He played Peter Pan at the Wolverhampton Theatre starring alongside the brilliant Cannon and Ball and is delighted to be joining them on stage in Darlington this year.<\/p>\n Celena studied at Ravenscourt Theatre School from the age of 4, where as well as a full education she learnt ballet, tap, mime and drama.<\/p>\n In 1985 Celena landed her first part in a children’s telvision series for ITV called C.A.B<\/em>. She played Jo. Then, in 1991, she received the part of Neena in a children’s television series for ITV called Criss Cross<\/em>. Celena also had a small part in Eastenders<\/em> playing a brownie and a part in The Bill<\/em> playing part of a gang who vandalised cars and appeared in Max Headroom’s Christmas Turkey<\/em>.<\/p>\n At 17, Celena signed a contract with Walt Disney Records and was with them for a year. Then, when she was 18 years old, she joined a girl group as the lead singer, the group went on to be The Honeyz. They had five top 10s, their first single ‘Finally Found’ (which they wrote) went into the charts at Number 4 and stayed in the charts for ten weeks. Their debut album went platinum and they had a Number 1 in Australia. During that time they appeared on such shows as CD:UK<\/em>, Top of the Pops<\/em>, Party in the Park<\/em>, Stars in their Eyes<\/em> etc., as well as doing six music videos and touring the world.<\/p>\n Honeyz split in 2002, since when Celena has been working on a solo career and writing songs. Recently Victoria Beckham recorded one of Celena’s songs for her album as well as a Japanese artist called Krystal Kay.<\/p>\n She performed in the pantomime Snow White<\/em> ad the fairy alongside Lysette Anthony and Jansen Spencer in 2002 and in 2003 Celena headlined in the pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk<\/em>. She has just finished shooting a commercial for FCUK and will be seen in an episode of Doctors<\/em> playing a guest lead.<\/p>\n Steve started his professional career as a voiceover artist for radio and television and appeared as the original Dairy Crest Milkman on television nationally.<\/p>\n He has toured extensively with the Pasadena Roof Orchestra and for 25 years has worked with Scotland’s international entertainers The Alexander Brothers in their annual Burns Night Show. On stage Steve appears regularly as master of ceremonies in Music 1 fall and Variety. He chaired North East comedian Bobby Pattinson\u2019s 50th Anniversary Music Hall, Billy Fane’s Magic of the Music Hall and countless productions of The Good Old Days. He played the title role in Big Heck, a play commissioned by Newcastle University, about the famous North East fundraiser, and as Frosch the drunken jailor in Die Fledermaus for Northern Opera, both to huge critical acclaim. Steve loves panto and through his company Grimaldi he supplies scripts to companies across the world. For the past two years he has toured in pantomimes across the north east and this year is delighted to be with Cannon and Ball at the Civic Theatre Darlington.<\/p>\n Lesley won a Laurence Olivier Award in 1986 for her portrayal of Judy Garland in the musical play, Judy, at the Strand Theatre in London, and which subsequently toured Scotland in 1991. Other London appearances include Ella Peterson in Bells Are Ringing at Greenwich and Meg Brockie in Brigadoon at the Victoria Palace Theatre. She also won considerable acclaim up and down the country in the title role of Piaf. Since returning to live in Scotland in 1993, Lesley has played, amongst other things, Shirley Valentine, and was nominated for a TMA\/Barclays Award for her performance in Shaw\u2019s Candida, both at Perth. At Dundee, she also played Sister Mae in Tennessee Williams\u2019s Cat on a Hot Tin Roof And, in 1998, enjoyed a spell in S I V s long-running series, High Road. She played a variety of parts in the 1999 Pitlochry Festival Theatre season and, the following year, repeated her success as Shirley Valentine at the Byre Theatre, St. Andrews. She then went on to play Miss Hannigan in the Perth Theatre production of Annie and, more recently, Mrs Sowerberry in Oliver! Her many pantomime appearances include Principal Boy in Jack and the Beanstalk and Aladdin, both at the Eden Court Theatre, Inverness. Lesley has also been touring with Born to Sing, her own show about the legendary singers Edith Piaf and Judy Garland. Alongside her career as an actress and singer, Lesley has recorded numerous audio books over the past eight years.<\/p>\n Claire made her theatrical debut at the Bristol Old Vic Theatre when she was nine years old, playing Lillian in The Chimes. She subsequently appeared in successive pantomimes at Bristol Old Vic, such as Jack and the Beanstalk, Dick Whittington, Cinderella and Aladdin.<\/p>\n In 2001 Claire was awarded a scholarship to the Guildford School of Acting where, in the last three years, she has had the opportunity to play a variety of roles. These include: Kay in lime and the Conways, Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing, Maria Zeigler in The Dancing Years, Millicent in Little Mary Sunshine And Linda in Thatcher’s Women. She has also worked as a soloist for the popular GSA Singers and for the Hiss and Boo Company.<\/p>\n Claire has extensive television experience, having first appeared as a Presenter in The Wild Bunch (BBC) 1990. She went on to play Sophia, in A Respectable Trade (BBC J and Liz Riley in Casualty (BBC). One of (.Lure’s major television roles was playing Ross Kemps daughter, Paula Mowbray, in two series of Without Motive (ITV). More recently, Claire has performed in the popular comedy series This is Dorn Joly and played Anjie in Howard Goodall\u2019s 20th Century Greats.<\/p>\n Claire is thrilled to be appearing as Wendy in Peter Pan for Qdos Entertainment at Darlington Civic Theatre, and would like to thank her family for their continued love and support.<\/p>\n Debbie trained at Mountview Theatre School. Her first job after graduating was to work with John Godber, creating the role of Ginger Jones in Bi% Trouble in the little Bedroom (Hull Truck Theatre Company). Other credits includes Lucy\/Corrinder in Moll Flanders (UK lour). June in Anyone Can Whistle (Cardiff International Theatre Festival). Delphi in The Dream Dealer (The Bridewell Theatre), Lead Vocalist in Lore Songs (Rowntree Theatre. York), Musical Fantasies (BBC Radio Wales) and Who’s Afraid of Virginia Jones (BBC TV). Most recently she had the chance to return home to Wales to perform Songs From The Shows in the stunning grounds of Cardiff Castle.<\/p>\n Debbie is thrilled to be sprinkling her magic Tinkerbell dust this Christmas in Darlington.<\/p>\n Take a group of international gymnasts and tumblers, put them together and you have the highly acclaimed act known as The Acromaniacs.<\/p>\n The Acromaniacs is a fast and hilariously funny, slapstick acrobatic act constantly in worldwide demand, such is its entertainment value which crosses all language barriers. The group\u2019s use of trampette, box and crashmat has to be seen to be believed … split second timing was never more important!<\/p>\n Recent years have seen The Acromaniacs establish themselves as one of Britain\u2019s top speciality attractions with numerous appearances in premier pantomime and summer season productions, working such stars as Brian Conley, Brian Blessed, Joe Pasquale, Leslie Grantham, Shane Richie, Frank Bruno, Russ Abbott, and Jim Davidson to name but a few.<\/p>\n The act has also featured on several top TV series in the UK and throughout Europe, appearances include The Brian Conley Show, Surprise Surprise, and Talking Telephone Numbers, Hold Raffailla (TV5 Spain), Tutti a Casa (RAH 1 Rome). The Acromaniacs are also proud to boast no less than five successive appearances on the BBC\u2019s Childrens Royal Variety Performance in the gracious presence of HRH I he Princess Margaret where each year the boys delighted and captivated the young audience with their displays of comedy acrobatics. The boys are delighted to be appearing here in Darlington.<\/p>\n The Acromaniacs consist of: Chloe Evans<\/p>\n Laura Fallon<\/p>\n Lisa Handley<\/p>\n Stephanie Mackin<\/p>\n The Joanne Banks Dancers were formed in 1990 by professional dancer and choreographer Joanne Banks. In 2001 they moved to their own purpose-built studio, Studio 10 in Spennymoor, County Durham.<\/p>\n Joanne has worked as a choreographer for many years, working on dozens of musicals and cabaret shows and estimates she has taught dance to more than a thousand children and adults\u2019<\/p>\n The Joanne Banks Dancers have performed with many different theatre companies, including Qdos Entertainment, The National Youth Music Theatre, Pantoni Productions. Dionysis Theatre Company and The English Youth Ballet, and have been involved in well over a dozen professional pantomimes, many of them here in Darlington. This year ten of the children worked with the English Youth Ballet, three have been nominated for international dance scholarships and over 40 children are working in professional theatres on various projects this panto season.<\/p>\n Pupils can enjoy a range of classes including tap, jazz, theatre craft, ballet and acrobatics as well as adult classes in tap and modern. Several pupils have gone on to full-time dance college and then on to professional careers in the entertainment industry.\u00a0<\/p>\n Joanne and the team are delighted to be here again for another panto season and would like to say a big thank you to the chaperones Julie Tyers, Natalie Thompson, Gemma Tyers and Catriona Long for looking after them so well all these years.<\/p>\n Michael Harrison is Executive Producer for seven Qdos Pantomimes this Christmas. In addition he is directing Mother Goose at the Kings Theatre, Glasgow, following last year\u2019s production of Sleeping Beauty, which broke all previous box office records and became the highest selling panto in Scottish theatre history! Michael Harrison has also produced Born to Sing!, starring Olivier Award winning Actress Lesley Mackie; Art starring John Duttine, Christopher Cazenove and Les Dennis and The Woman Who Cooked Her Husband, starring Elaine C Smith and Andy Gray which smashed box office records on its eight-week tour.<\/p>\n Future productions include Debbie Does Dallas The Musical to be co produced with Mark Goucher.<\/p>\n Maurice was a television film editor before winning a scholarship to RADA where, as an honours graduate, he won a Ronson Award.<\/p>\n From acting and directing in childrens theatre, he moved into repertory theatre, where his appearances include Relative Values (opposite Anna Neagle), My Giddy Aunt (Mollie Sugden). Pyjama Tops and Bedside Manners (John Inman). Favourite roles are Frank (Educating Rita), Owen (Clouds), Heathclifte (Wuthering Heights) and Dracula.<\/p>\n Film and television include The Bitch, The Jigsaw Man, Chance in a Million, Up the Elephant and Round the Castle, Let There Be Love, Grandad and Rentaghost.<\/p>\n In 1996 he filmed The House That Mary Bought with Susan George and The Way to Dusty Death (mini scries). He has also worked as a voice-over artist on many TV and radio projects, one of which was History’s Mysteries lor the Discovery channel. Maurice worked with Michael Caine in the feature film Shadow Run and more recently appeared in the popular television scries Heartbeat.<\/p>\n Maurice has played villain roles in Dick Whittington, Aladdin, Babes in the Wood (two seasons with Cannon and Ball), Robinson Crusoe (four seasons with David Essex) and in 1999 and 2000 he appeared at Alhambra 1 heat re, Bradford in Dick Whittington and Aladdin. He has also directed and appeared in Dick Whittington at the Lewisham Theatre, The Three Bears at Reading and Robin Hood at Darlington.<\/p>\n During the summer of 2000, Maurice directed and appeared in Absurd Person Singular at the Pier Theatre. Bournemouth alongside Amanda Barrie, Leslie Grantham and Carol Harrison. In the summer of 2003 Maurice co-directed. and appeared in David Copperfield for the Farnham Theatre Company, after which he directed Bedside Manners starring John Inman.<\/p>\n Christmas 2003\/2004 Maurice directed Peter Pan at the Grand Theatre, Wolverhampton.<\/p>\n During August this year he directed Annie Get Your Gun with a cast of 110 young people for the Channel Theatre summer project at the Beck Theatre, Hayes.<\/p>\n He has his own multi-media production company and throughout the year has also been directing promotional videos. Maurice has worked as an actor and director for Cannon and Ball, both on stage and video and is delighted that they have invited him to work with them again in the Darlington production of Peter Pan this year.<\/p>\n Emma trained at Performers College gaining her teaching qualifications with Distinction. She went on to work for Brian Rogers in summer season with Danny La Rue.<\/p>\n Emma then travelled extensively working lor Princess Cruises in the Caribbean and Alaska and for Robert Wheeler in Malaysia and Thailand as both dancer and dance captain.<\/p>\n For Alan Harding, Emma toured with Spirit of the Dance in the UK, Europe, America, the UAE, Brazil, Asia and Australia as well as appearing on Jim Davidson’s Generation Game.<\/p>\n As a dancer Emma also spent two seasons at the Thursford Christmas Spectacular in Norfolk. With RAW, a tap dance and percussion show Emma toured the UK and appeared at Wembley with Jonathan Ross and Geri Halliwell.<\/p>\n Emma now teaches at Phil Winstons Theatreworks in Blackpool. Specialising in street jazz Emma lectures for the IDT A and takes workshops throughout the country.<\/p>\n Choreography credits include The Works, The Paradise Room, Blackpool, and Peter Pan starring Paul Nicholas, Lyric Theatre, Lowry, Manchester where she will also be returning this year.<\/p>\n Alasdair MacNeill’s career in music direction has covered UK tours of many of the most well-known musicals of the last decade, including Fame, Grease, A Chorus Line, Singing in the Rain, Aspects of Love and F.vita. He arranged the music for Phantom of the Opera, along with covering its UK, European, American and Far East tours. He also arranged and directed the music for Narnia in London and New York. Closer to home, he contributed original music, arrangements and music direction for the production of Curse of the Werewolf and arrangements for Zorro – the Musical at the Theatre Royal, Stratford East and was in addition the composer of Lark Rise and Dick Whittington at Nottingham Playhouse. He was Music Director for A Brief Affair and Godspell at the Bridewell Theatre and the Young Vic in London, on Oliver! at York Theatre Royal, Blue Angel at Bristol Old Vic, Oh, What a Lovely War! at Nottingham and Basingstoke, and Annie! for the Rugby Youth Theatre Festival, along with several productions for the Newcastle Playhouse, the Contact Theatre in Manchester, and the Edinburgh Festival. Previous Christmas shows include Mother Goose at Chichester Festival Theatre, Captain Beaky for the City of London Festival and a previous production of Peter Pan at the Sheffield Lyceum. He has also worked with Scottish Ballet on Swan Lake and Nutcracker, and in cabaret, presenting the Max Miller Show at the Royal Exchange Theatre, Manchester.<\/p>\n As a composer, his credits include Lulu at Watford Palace Theatre, Wowza! and Straitjackets for Scottish Ballet. The Caucasian Chalk Circle at Newcastle Playhouse and Buster’s Last Stand and King Lear at Nottingham Playhouse. He provided film soundtracks for The Man Who Shot Christmas (Rank), The Magnificent One (Channel 4 film), Coast to Coast starring Lenny Henry for BBC Screen on Two and Linkline starring Pamela Stephenson for British Telecom. His arrangements can be heard on several CDs, including Toujours L’Amour, Lord of the Rings and A Midsummer Night\u2019s Dream. Alasdair has recently completed the orchestration of Behind the Iron Mask, scheduled for West End production in 2005.<\/p>\n Paul has been a lighting designer for over 20 years and is lighting his 30th pantomime – he hopes he will get it right this time!<\/p>\n Paul is also a freelance producer and director, and has been involved in productions all over the world. This will be Paul\u2019s tenth pantomime for Qdos at the Civic, and he is looking forward to many more.<\/p>\n He has recently had a baby boy and is looking forward to getting back to the nappies.<\/p>\n Established as one of the UK’s top stage light directors, Karl has directed fight sequences for numerous TV, pop videos (including – The Bee Gees, Pet Shop Boys, Nine Inch Nails and INXS) and theatre productions including operas for The Royal Opera House, Covent Garden, English National Opera and Glyndebourne. Other credits include – Happy Days UK tour 1999, The Hollywood Stunt Show at Mitsui Greenland. Japan 2001 and Peter Pan summer tour 2001. Television credits include the prestigious BBC\u2019s Children’s Royal Variety Performance for five consecutive years 1990- 1994, BBC Big Bash 1998, The Generation Game, Noel’s House Party and The Fast Show. Over the last fourteen years Karl has set over 100 pantomime productions. This 2004\/05 season, Karl will set the fight sequences for no less than 11 major UK pantomime productions. Karl has directed\/stunt co-ordinated the Batman Stunt Show for Warner Bros Movieworld Theme Park, Germany. as well as 7 years as director for the Wild West Stunt Show and Beat of the Bronx at Phantasialand Theme Park. Germany. In summer of 2002 he co-ordinated a live stunt sequence for the premier of the box office movie smash Spiderman in Londons Leicester Square.
