Planned cruise, arranged by Christian Cruises on the Ambassador Cruise Line boat Ambience. Was due to take place from 16th April 2022 and visit the Norwegian Fjords. However the cruise was cancelled due to delays in refurbishing Ambience.
Headlined by Tim Vine, Tommy was to be one of the entertainers on the cruise.
Tim Vine
Tim Vine is one of the funniest comic talents of his time, winning the Perrier Award at the Edinburgh Festival. Best known for his BAFTA award winning BBC TV Series, Tim has written several best-selling joke books and appeared with his brother Jeremy on the celebrity version of ITV1’s Who Wants to be a Millionaire and he is a regular guest on BBC’s Live at the Apollo. Alongside his worldwide appearances, his musical talent includes the guitar, piano and drums which he sometimes plays at his church.
Tommy Cannon
Comedy Legend Tommy Cannon is one half of Cannon & Ball hailed as the UK’s Kings of Live Comedy. The veteran funnyman ’s long time comedy partner Bobby Ball died last October aged 76, but Tommy has decided to continue entertaining his legion of fans. Featuring in a special Life Stories event on board, Tommy will recall how his faith pulled him through the toughest times at the top of the showbiz ladder.
Sue Hodge
Sue Hodge is well known as ‘Allo ‘Allo’s Mimi Labonq which ran for many years on the BBC, and is still seen in 72 countries including the UK. The stage show took Sue from England to New Zealand and Australia, then on to the London Palladium for 6 months. Sue has worked on many other classic plays and comedies which have taken her around the world as well as London’s West-End. As well as her Pantomime appearances, Sue tours her own show, Mimi and Me, and will be offering passengers a chance to be part of a special afternoon concert version of Godspell with her husband MD Keith ‘Paddington’ Richards.
John Archer
From Las Vegas to London’s West End John Archer is one of the most highly esteemed comedy magicians today. Winner of the ‘Magic Circle Stage Magician of the Year with a Gold Star’ John is highly respected by his showbiz peers, and was awarded the Ken Dodd President’s Trophy for Best New Magical Comedy Entertainer. John’s numerous TV appearances include Undercover Magic & on ITV’s Fool Us he was the first magician on the programme to fool Penn & Teller. John recently won a BAFTA in the Entertainment Category at The Children’s BAFTA’s. John says that the Easter story is an inspiration to him and a vital part of his life in and out of showbiz.
Cindy Kent MBE
Cindy Kent MBE is well known as lead singer with The Settlers, the UK’s leading 60’s pop-folk group and travelled the world with songs such as The Lightning Tree and was respected for its hit covers of Beatles songs. A six-month residency on the BBC series, Singalong, led to tours with Dusty Springfield, Roy Orbison and The Small Faces. Cindy left the band in 1973 to join Radio 4, Radio 2, and Radio 1, later becoming a broadcaster on London’s first legal commercial radio stations, LBC and Capital Radio and Premier Radio. In 2008 Cindy was ordained as a priest, and was awarded the MBE for services to broadcasting in the Queen’s 90th Birthday Honours List.
Chris Gidney
Chris Gidney is your host for the themed cruise and has spent a lifetime as an entertainer, producer and author, working with numerous artistes from the legendary Frank Sinatra to Sir Cliff Richard. Chris joined London’s West-End in 1980 to enjoy twelve consecutive London productions before moving to BBC Television, and has authored 28 commercially published books and six Pantomimes, as well as articles and scripts for the BBC and national press. As a freelance Producer, Chris is responsible for a number of unique stage, television and radio productions and has enjoyed creating and producing over forty themed cruises which have taken him around the world. When back on land, Chris looks forward to producing several stage tours alongside his various Pantomimes and continuing as founder-director of showbiz charity CIE, which this year celebrates 40 years of supporting those in the entertainment profession.
