The Swan Man of Ilkley
First aired Sunday 12th March 2005, BBC1. Bobby plays ‘The Swan Man of Ilkley’ – a man who for some unexplained reason wishes to travel down the canal on a giant inflatable swan to Ilkley. He is first seen in the water with a punctured swan.
The rest of the cast help him repair his puncture and get back on his way – after a minor mishap letting the swan drift away on the canal.
Right at the end of the show the swan gets caught on the back of a barge and is dragged down the canal. At the end of the credits Tommy turns round from his position driving the boat.
Who’s That Talking To Lenny?
First aired 16th April 2006, BBC1.
The group meet Lenny sat by the side of the road. He believes he heard the voice of God – with a Barnsley accent – which told him “Don’t just lie there, go do something” while lying in bed the previous night. They dress Lenny in an old black coat and give him a staff.
Eventually they set up a loudspeaker in a van which they use to give Lenny commands, culminating in him being told to jump off the bridge. Lenny say’s he’s had enough and throws his staff away over the bridge, where is hits Tommy in the boat below.
Get Out of That Then
First aired 31st August 2008, BBC1
Bobby plays the recently retired Lenny, cousin of series regular Barry. He has spent the time since retirement working on an escapologist act, much to the dismay of his wife Florrie (Barbara Young). Tommy plays Cliff, another relative, who is known for saying very little.
He plans to appear in the the “Be a Star” talent auditions. During the proceedings Howard borrows Lenny’s metal hood to try and avoid being seen by his wife, but gets stuck into it. In the end it’s Cliff who gets signed up to play the piano.
