Liquid Medicine Measure Advert

Two early 90’s public information films explaining the liquid medicine measure. In both films Bobby is trying to give Nobby his medicine, when Tommy assists.

Advert 1

Bobby: 2 and a half mils is 2.5, that’s about half.

Tommy: What are you doing?

Bobby: I’m trying to give Nobby his medicine and it’s not easy, Tommy, Is it Nobby?

Tommy: Use this measure. Well, don’t be silly, it’s not an injection. You just gently squeeze the medicine into the side of the mouth.

Bobby: How am I supposed to get the medicine into that little hole.

Tommy: Place adapter in the bottle. Pull back the plunger. Push the air into the bottle. Without air bubbles withdraw correct amount. With the patient upright, give the medicine slowly into the side of the mouth, giving time to swallow.

Bobby: Why do you do that, Tommy?

Tommy: Because it’s better for your teeth. And it allows us to measure small doses more accurately. But remember

Bobby: What

Tommy: Only take the stated dose that is written on the label.

Bobby: Right on, Tommy.

Tommy: Here’s a leaflet that explains it all and is given with a prescription, along with a set of instructions for the measure.

Bobby: That’ll do for me, Nobby. Will it do for you?

Voiceover: That was a public information film.
