From a decade that offered a rich and successful variety of TV comedy we re-live highlights in this memorable collection of humour from the seventies..
The inimitable Dick Emery delighted us with his unique brand of gentle humour which is wonderfully contrasted by the boisterous belly laughs of Morecambe & Wise and few will ever forget Leonard Rossiter’s brilliant performance in the smash-hit cult comedy, The Fall & Rise Of Reginald Perrin.
The little domestic tiffs of Terry and June and Cara Lane’s delightfully funny Butterflies catered for all ages and with Larry Grayson always sure to tickle someone’s fancy we have a wonderful taste of the comedy we knew and loved from the decade that made us all laugh.

This video includes a number of sketches and clips from various comedy shows of the 1970s, including Terry and June, Jasper Carrott, Spike Milligan and Butterflies. It also includes one sketch from the first series of Cannon and Balls TV show, originally shown in 1979.
The sketch features Bernard Kay as an estate agent showing the duo round a flat. Unfortunately it has a serious damp problem, including a sea monster in the cellar and a telephone that squirts water.
They find a divers suit in the wardrobe, a penguin in the fridge, and the mousetrap catches a fish. Of course, they decide to take the flat as it’s ideal for their new au pair, who Tommy carries in.
